With the recent opening of COMMENCAL Australia together with the annual Cannonball Festival this past weekend, we decided to send the rider who finished top 10 at the last World Champs in Cairns; Amaury Pierron.
So, what is Cannonball?
This festival, held every year for the past 5 years, is the biggest MTB event in Australia and it's the perfect way to celebrate the arrival of summer! All disciplines are thought of whether it be Pumptrack, Enduro, Flow (the equivalent of Air DH), Whip Off and DH.
Amaury's participation in all these events allowed him to test himself, to deepen his winter training under the Australian sun and in particular, to ride with our local riders including our new team COMMENCAL Australia/Pushys.
Of course, even if this trip did have a holiday feel, when two machines go against the clock (Amaury and the SUPREME 29) performance shines through!
After winning a rainy DH qualification, Amaury took 3rd place in a final held in the sunshine.
The Frenchman also got to grips with Flow, a real test of effort, which apparently didn't scare him because he smashed the top 10!
