The Girls On Track event took place on 24th & 25th August at Les Angles resort in the Pyrénées. Alongside MTB Les Angles, the local mountain bike club headed up by rider Alexia Ministrot, we shared a girls weekend full of shred! With the exception of our very masculine mechanic Alban, the staff were 100% female.
Cindy, Janet and Léa from Marketing plus Rosi from the Web department were on-hand to enjoy the event.
In France as in other countries, whilst the female riding community is far from as strong as the mens, girls who ride are not uncommon.
This event was an example of that passion with about forty female participants!
More established riders or beginners, everyone enjoyed sharing their experiences on the bikes, during mechanics workshop sessions and also evening activities organised for the occasion. If the subject of shopping was still on everyone’s lips, it wasn't shoes or handbags that were being discussed this time..
DAKINE, one of our partners, gave everyone a beautiful mechanics apron so there’s no excuse now girls!
Anne Caroline Chausson who's recently returned to bike, came along to provide her good vibes and expert advice on all things MTB.
It was a real pleasure to have her with us and FYI, she’s still got those skills behind the bars! :)
