World Cup #1 - Maribor - Season Is On!

Rain was forecast for most of the weekend but it actually never showed up on race day. And what a first race to kick off the season!

Amaury Pierron was sporting the #1 plate and ended the race in a promising 7th place. Indeed, as perhaps we already knew, he proved he’s ready to contend for podiums and wins throughout the rest of the season. He will be back onboard his SUPREME DH 29 with the #9 plate at Fort Bill, where he won his first ever World Cup last season.

Rémi Thirion finished the race in 17th spot. He knows what separates him and his time from the very top guys and will be eager to use his experience in future races.

Congratulations to Loic Bruni, for his amazing victory this weekend. What. a. race!

Our other riders finished the race between 24th and 55th spots:

In the Elite Women’s race, local rider Monika Hrastnik got another podium coming in 5th.

Her teammate from the DORVAL team, Mariana Salazar ended up 13th.

In the Junior Men, Thibaut Daprela proved his supremacy once again by winning the race by 3 seconds over Ethan Shandro!

Emile Rilat was looking for more this weekend after a great qualifying result (4th) on Saturday. He eventually crossed the line in 7th.

Zach Gareis, representing COMMENCAL USA finished the race at the 19th spot.

Léane Chardonnieras who was part of the Junior Cartel last season, will go back home with a respectable 6th place in the Junior Women for her first ever World Cup!

Everybody was anticipating a great race in Maribor thanks to its great track, but we should take the chance to congratulate the organisers for this amazing event.

See you in a few weeks for the second round in Fort William. We just can't wait for it!
