SUPREME DH 29/27 - Press Reviews

The SUPREME DH 29/27 was launched last summer as part of the 2021 range. Our riders have already confirmed it (they also played a big part in its development) and now it has also had great success amongst the experts upon its release. So, what did the press have to say?

In a comparison made in February 2021, Pinkbike journalists decided to test and evaluate the four best performing DH bikes from the 2020 World Cup season. The SUPREME DH 29/27 is part of the selection and here's why according to tester Dan Roberts:

“Certainly one of the most winning bikes over the past few years at World Cups, with many a privateer or supported rider choosing a SUPREME DH, following the success under COMMENCAL’s factory riders.”

“All that success though, was aboard a full 29-inch version, and for 2021 COMMENCAL released their mullet version to live alongside its full wagon wheel brother, with fixed geometry, wheel size and travel.”

“COMMENCAL now have 3 separate bikes on offer for each of the separate wheel size setups.”

After testing the bike for several weeks in the Portes du Soleil area, here’s what they said:

“The COMMENCAL is one of those bikes with a single track mind. All it wants to do is go as fast as possible. You can channel your inner Amaury Pierron and it does just that, once you ride it with aggression and strength, then it really rewards you with immense speed and the ability to pull up off everything in sight. It really is the butter machine for the ensuing hard flat landings.”

Finally, the SUPREME 29/27 is given Best in Test:

“The SUPREME DH 29/27 is one hell of a fast bike (…) It feels like a more solid package both in the way it rides, and more importantly in the way it’s constructed. Out of the two fastest bikes in this test, i’d have much more confidence in the COMMENCAL for running it for a whole season of abuse with it giving me much less problems. (…) The COMMENCAL on the other hand, feels like you could just ride it hard and put it away dirty, only to do the exact same thing the very next weekend, and all that for the cheapest bike here. And for all those reasons, that’s why it gets our Best in Test.”
