Today was quali' day in Maribor for the 3rd round of the UCI World Cup.

In the elite field, Thibaut Daprela from the COMMENCAL/MUC-OFF team confirmed why he has the leader's jersey and number one plate in the overall with a very sweet 2nd place. In his 1st elite season, Englishman Dan Slack managed a brilliant 11th place and we can’t wait to see him in the final tomorrow!  
Amongst the women, Myriam Nicole took 2nd place, ahead of the reigning World Champion Camille Balanche in 3rd. The top 5 is completed by the local lady Monika Hrastnik, in front of her home crowd.

In Juniors, we find Tristan Lemire, the Québécois of the COMMENCAL/MUC-OFF team with the 4th best time. Pau Menoyo came down in 6th.

It’s a very dry track and the riders simply had to call on all their ability and skill to be able to get to the bottom. Many crashes and mechanicals, notably Benoit Coulanges who was looking super fast but punctured today. He's protected though, so he'll race in tomorrow nonetheless. We cannot wait to know who will beat the heat!
