World Cup # 8: Snowshoe - Timed Training

The big finale of DH season is here! The last round of the World Cup takes place this weekend in Snowshoe, Virginia.
This US Bike Park hosts a World Cup for the first time in more than 15 years!
Riders will face an unprecedented track compared to other races of the season, with no previous experience playing as an advantage.

With the Track Walk yesterday, COMMENCAL riders have discovered an intensely technical and fast downhill.
Composed of some big jumps and fast sections, it is the part in the roots and the rocks that have the attention of our riders.
The potential lines are numerous and impossible to trace, making it difficult to judge what other riders are doing.

The Timed Training took place this Thursday. For their first runs on this track, the COMMENCAL riders distinguished themselves by making very interesting times.
In Elite men, Amaury PIERRON came in 4th with a time of 3: 20: 759.
To win the World Cup overall, he needs to win this round and his direct competitor, Loïc BRUNI, has to finish 5th!

Thomas ESTAQUE and Johannes VON KLEBELSBERG are also very comfortable on this technical track, as they secured an 8th and 10th position! Unfortunately for "Denim Destroyer", a head trauma at Mont Saint-Anne forces him to abandon this last World Cup of the season.

Rémi THIRION secured a top 15, while Faustin FIGARET and Baptiste PIERRON finished 27th and 28th!
Rafael GUTIERREZ VILLEGAS, Andreas KOLB and Hugo FRIXTALON finish respectively 34th, 39th and 43rd.

In women, the recent World Champion Myriam NICOLE will ride her first World Cup of the season.
This is why her plate number did not allow her to participate in the timed sessions.
Monika HRASTNIK took 3rd place in the women's category, and her DORVAL team mate Mariana SALAZAR finished 8th.

Finally in the Junior Men category, Thibaut DAPRELA completes his day with a position in 2nd.
He will fight this weekend to finish his season in style!
