European DH Championships 2023 - Antoine Vidal on Top

It was the resort of Les Menuires that hosted the European Downhill Championships over the weekend, and once again, COMMENCAL riders took the opportunity to make our SUPREME DH V5 shine.

After his French Championship title in 2022, ANTOINE VIDAL continues to impress, this time by winning the Euros! Crowned 2023 European Champion behind the bars of his SUPREME DH V5, the COMMENCAL - LES ORRES rider delivered a solid and committed run, and did not hide his emotions in the finish area! He was closely followed by COMMENCAL DORVAL AM rider BAPTISTE PIERRON, who took the Vice Champ spot on a fast and rough track, made trickier by the multiple line choices and the constant cloud of track dust. The two Frenchmen were joined on the podium by Brit, Ethan Craik.

In the women’s final, same teams different teammates! MONIKA HRASTNIK of the COMMENCAL DORVAL AM team achieved second spot. The Slovenian was accompanied by Swiss woman LISA BAUMANN from COMMENCAL - LES ORRES who finished third. It was Italian ELEONORA FARINA who claimed the championship title.

Special mention to our young guns. In the U17s, MAX ALRAN from COMMENCAL X1 RACING, won the title with an impressive time that placed him in the top 20 scratch.
AVA Chaumet Lagrange was also in the mix and pocketed the U15 female championship title.

As for SACHA BRIZIN, repping the COMMENCAL 101 program excellently, he achieved a great result by taking his SUPREME DH V5 XS onto the second step of the podium in the U15s.

Now it's time for a DH World Cup triple header with back-to-back rounds in Pal Arinsal, Loudenvielle and Les Gets over three consecutive weekends. Race mode engaged!
