LA GRAVE / LA MEIJE

La Grave/La Meije has long been a famous freeride ski destination for many years. But did you know that today there’s a local association of enthusiasts that have made sure that this incredible place is also accessible with a mountain bike?

When we heard about this at COMMENCAL we found the idea so crazy that we wanted to be involved. The area rises to 3211m at the foot of the Girose, Meije and Râteau glaciers and offers a vertical descent of more than 1800m. In a single run you can therefore go from the extreme high mountain to dense larch forest with loose dirt, passing through beautiful Alpine meadows on the way.

There are 6 downhill routes available with varied technicalities and terrain plus views from the Oisans valley to Mont-Blanc. You’ll see that this is a unique spot! The proximity to Serre Chevalier Vallée and Les 2 Alpes resorts means you can rent our mountain bikes and test them on the trails of La Grave. Be careful though, it’s is not a bike park; summer and winter alike you ride on high mountain freeride routes.
