World Championships 2019 - Mont-Sainte-Anne - The Rainbow Stripes for Myriam Nicole

Simply incredible!
The comeback Queen Myriam Nicole has grabbed her first World Championship title!
After months of struggle to regain form and feeling on her bike, she was not the favourite to take the title. But…
The COMMENCAL VALLNORD DH Team rider a was able to make her dreams a reality with this massive personal achievement!

Coming down the hill early in the day because of her ranking, she still laid down the perfect run to take her place in the hot seat, where she stayed for the rest of the day!
She therefore wears the rainbow jersey for the first time in her career! At 29, she already has silver medals x2 in 2016-2017 and bronze in 2018.
She said, "It's just amazing! I never thought I'd get there after all these months of trouble!"
What a return, Bravo Pompon!

In the Elite Men’s race, Amaury Pierron was close to claim the title but it was not his day this time.
But the French rider won his first medal in a World Championships with the bronze!
Despite an extremely fast and committed run, two small mistakes cost him the win. Obviously disappointed, his season is not over yet as there is still a round of the World
Cup
next week in the United States, with all to play for… He will fight it out again to win the general for a second year in a row.

Many more came behind Amaury. Hugo Frixtalon achieved a superb 16th place! Remi Thirion and Thomas Estaque also placed top 20 finishing 19th and 20th.
Bruce Klein and Baptiste Pierron were top 30 in 27th and 28th.

Our COMMENCAL riders created more than one surprise this weekend!
After his great qualifying time, the French COMMENCAL VALLNORD Enduro Team rider Antoine Vidal won the silver medal in Juniors!
One week after his U21 ENDURO WORLD SERIES overall victory, he demonstrated his talent and versatility.
Great achievement by him!

Thibaut Daprela had a pretty bad day. Somewhat disappointed, he was only able to achieve 5th place after braking his chain and not being able to pedal for a good part of the race. With no chain, 5th place is a very respectable position, just bad luck this time.

Thank you to all the riders for these magnificent World Championships!
The season will end next week in Snowshoe, USA, for the last round of the World Cup!
