Benoit Coulanges and Myriam Nicole are 2020 French Champions

A week after the 2nd round of the French Cup in Les 2 Alpes, the entire French DH circuit descended on Les Ménuires for French National Championships.
Typical of many French tracks, it was taped through an alpine meadow and was littered with jumps, huge boulders, sweeping grassy turns and therefore proved to be fast, tricky and dusty.

Like the first two French Cup rounds, COMMENCAL riders once again largely dominated all categories.
Even if she did finish 2nd in seeding on Saturday, Myriam Nicole went on to win on Sunday by more than 3 seconds!
In her second race of the season, she won the Championship title!
So, it’s perfect revenge since she was unable to participate last year due to her foot injury.

In the men’s race it was Benoît Coulanges who was victorious! Building on his momentum after his victory in Les 2 Alpes last week, he won ahead of some of the best riders on the world circuit.
A magnificent performance for him which testifies to his consistent progression in recent months and which shows that he’s a force to be reckoned with in the next rounds of the French Cup.

Finishing after the COMMENCAL DORVAL AM Team rider was his teammate Baptiste Pierron (4th).
There were also several other COMMENCAL riders in the top 10; Thibaut Daprela (5th), Thomas Estaque (6th), Antoine Vidal (7th), Rémi Thirion (8th) and Antoine Pierron (10th).

In fact, COMMENCAL riders covered most podiums from the youngest categories with Hugo Marini with the Cadet class and Simon Chapelet in Juniors!
Finally, Paul Rovigo took the Masters title too.

What a weekend!
