Can I Keep It? Rémi THIRION on the META POWER 29

Max: You've been asking us for this META POWER for quite some time. So, how do you feel after the first test?

Remi: I loved it!! The bike looks beautiful and it’s really well equipped with the best components. I was expecting it to feel embarrassingly heavy, but in fact, it didn’t bother me at all. The bike is still playful, you can go over big jumps and take on real enduro & DH trails. What I discovered and then loved, is the ease of riding technical uphill trails. I found a lot of similarities between this and riding Moto; finding the grip, torque and balance. I allowed myself to climb trails that I would not have done on my META.

Max: You also tell us that it will be very useful for your training. What do you plan to do with it?

Remi: I'm simply going to use it to increase the volume of riding, to ride enduro trails and DH during the off-season when the bike parks are closed. It will also allow me to train more independently and not depend on my entourage to give me shuttles! I'm also thinking of using it for big endurance rides or high cadence recovery rides, instead of riding flat road. I will be able to roll up with a small descent reward to finish!

Max: Without being biased, tell us honestly what you think. Are you convinced by its "sports" side? Are you really having fun downhill?

Remi: Yes I am convinced! For me, the bike can extend the realms of training, output. Even though it's a power-assisted bike, it still allows you to work on your cardio, just like technique (whether uphill, flat or downhill).
