EWS #1 Val Di Fassa - Great First Round

One week after the world’s best DH riders took part in the World Cup in Leogang, it was the turn of the COMMENCAL Enduro Team to make their return to racing!
The Team led by Cécile and Cédric Ravanel took part in the very first round of the Enduro World Series season in Italy. It’s a special week for the riders since the Dolomites are hosting two rounds of this EWS season.

Whilst there has been plenty of rain in Europe in recent days, the trails in Val Di Fassa were not quite as slippery and difficult to get to grips with as the World Cup in Leogang. Good for our riders! This year, Antoine Vidal decided to race the entire season in the Elite category! And he showed that he’s made the right choice as he finished in a magnificent 9th place! He’s already one of the best enduro riders out there and this first round signals good things for the future!

Alex Rudeau was also impressive. Faster and faster throughout the stages, his consistency and technique allowed him to (just about) keep up with his teammate and take 11th overall! Great news for the COMMENCAL Enduro Team which has two riders who are proving they can compete in the top 10.

In his first U21 EWS with his new team, Jack Piercy crashed twice which forced him to race with an injured shoulder. He finished 17th overall but his speed suggests that he will be able to perform better in the next heats.

It’s Saturday for the second round of the EWS, still in the heart of the Dolomites!
